I evaced before Katrina like we were told to. I hid in TX with family for a few days. I got back to the area and tried to rent a trailor 30 miles from home as I knew it would be the last one open. After picking through about 8 of them with flats, broken plug-in leads,and massive damage, we found a just-returned on in the back still dirty. They didnt clean it and gave it to me for the same price. They hook it up and we do the brake test and blinker test and after being their so long I was sorta happy and left. I arrived at my house to see that it only received a foot of damage and started the clean-up and packing. This was my first time ever towing so it was fun and an experience to say the least.
I packed and headed out to start my new life elsewhere(no job, non-livable house, roomie gone with no car) with my new gf in WA. I drove from Louisiana to friends house in TX and as im getting there people are almost rearending me (including my friends daughter)and honking when I turn. I left the next day for AZ for my moms house and truckers are honking and staring at me after I turn. I get out for dinner and tested brakes and signals, THEY ARE BACKWARDS! The left and right blinkers are reversed! I switched out the wires and left knowing why I went 1400 miles and people hate me!
I get to AZ with my mom and drop the trailor off. My gf flies in and we make a plan and prepare to leave. We get to Los Angeles and and need gas and after miles of people honking and glaring I see that we dont have brake lights. I get in the trailor and see naked wires all over the place. Being a car stereo installer and having tools I fixed it. We get gas. We go to leave and the brakes are locked up on the trailor in the gas station. I pull it across the street with my gf yelling and used some tools and actually undid the lines to the brakes. We keep going and get into northern LA county and my brake fuse blows out again(after miles of people honking and glaring). We fix it and the parking lights fuse blows. I pulled out my ac heating fuse and put it in there as all my fuses are in the trailor and its late. The rest of the trip was ok, but geez these people dont care and arent the brightest. I didnt get charged for the 3 extra days I had it, the only positive experience
