A little over a year ago I was planning a move from central Illinois to New York City. Since it was the first time that I had moved, I really didn”t have a wonderful grasp on what I was doing. There was so much to plan, reserve, and budget for that it got to be extremely overwhelming. The only thing that seemed to go right throughout the course of the move was that I made a good decision in renting a Uhaul trailer to move my belongings.
Renting a Uhaul proved to be the least stressful things that I had to plan. I simply went to a local Uhaul rental facility and told them where I was moving to, how many rooms were in my new apartment and the date. They whipped out a handy little book that figured out exactly what sized trailer I would need for my move. It was reasonably priced and I only needed to put down a 40-dollar deposit, which I got back the day that the trailer was picked up.
I was able to pick up my trailer at my convenience on the day that I was packing with no problems. My dad and I drove to the rental place hitched the trailer to the van and we were off to spend the afternoon loading everything up. The size of trailer that they said I would need was perfect. Everything fit nicely and the trailer itself was very secure. I was comfortable with the locking system on the trailer. There was no point in time throughout the move that I was concerned about having anything stolen.
When I needed to drop off the trailer, we could not find the drop off point that was designated for us. That was not Uhauls fault in the least. It was late and dark and we didn”t know our way around. We did find another Uhaul dealer, but it was not the place that we were sup post to drop the trailer off at. But we left it there anyway because my dad was eager to loose the extra length on his van. The next morning, we went to the facility that we dropped it off at, explained the situation and everything was worked out. They were very friendly and understanding to our problem.
Anyone who has moved before knows how stressful it is. With all of the planning that goes into a move, some things are bound to go wrong. Thankfully, I chose Uhaul to move my belongings and that aspect of my move when off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Uhaul trailers to anyone who is moving on a budget but doesn”t want to sacrifice good service and reliability.
