I just recently relocated from southern California to Colorado. I didn’t want the expense of a , so I decided to have my car shipped here and rent a U-Haul truck to bring the items with me that I felt were necessary.

I got a quote from U-Haul and they told me when and where I could pick up my truck. They called me the day before to confirm the pick up of the truck I would be using, and I was all set to go… or so I thought.

I get down to the facility where the truck is to be handed over, and the truck is no there. They told me that they tried to call the contact phone number to let me know that the “schedule had changed” but the number was invalid. Interesting, it was valid less than 24 hours earlier.

They didn’t even bother to offer bringing the truck to that facility, just simply told me the name and cross streets of another facility where I could pick it up and sent me on my way.

Well, I take the truck to load it up and the truck seems to be in fair shape despite it’s obvious age. We get on the road in the evening, and notice that one of the headlights is burned out. I don’t feel safe operating the vehicle under these circumstances as my drive would take me through some dark, windy desert roads and I would like all of the light I can get my hands on.

So I pull over and call their toll free number to call and tell them about the problem. They did send a guy out about two hours later and he had the headlight fixed in a matter of minutes. By this point I was tired and decided not to leave that night and pulled in at the Red Roof Inn for the night to rest up and get an early start the next day.

Everything went okay after that. Everything that actually involved their customer service and performance was horrendous. I wouldn’t use this service again for anything.
