U-Haul is one of the first names we all think of when we think of having to move something large from Point A to Point B. I guess that’s because it’s a LOT cheaper for a moving family to do it themselves than pay a hefty per-hour rate for a moving company that won’t take proper care of their valued possessions anyway. As Bruce Willis’ character, Harry Stamper, said in the film “Armageddon, “It’s not a choice; it’s a lack of options.”
Trucks rented from U-Haul tend to be dirty, greasy, and pretty worn out. I don’t feel safe riding in them, to be honest, and I sure don’t like putting my nice things in them, even if they are packed away in boxes with padding. I sure wouldn’t put my kids in a U-Haul, not like there’s room for them anyway! I have nightmarish visions of a trip from southeastern PA to Atlantic City, NJ, bouncing around in the back of one of these things as we moved my big brother into his new rental home there. Did I mention these trucks are darn COLD in the dead of winter??? Especially if you happen to be sitting on the metal floor.
Well, when it comes down to it, what are you gonna do? If you need to move stuff, U-Haul is where you can get a moving truck for a cheap price. It’s just a shame that the price is the only good thing about this “deal”.
