I have used U-Haul twice before. The first two times I lived in a more busy area, where there was a local U-haul center near by. I attempted to make reservations through the actual dealer, however, I was told that even though I was making the reservations through them, that didn’t mean I’d be able to get the U-Haul from them. Somehow I lucked out though and was able to receive the U-Haul from them.
This third time around, I reserved my U-Haul online, thinking how different could it be from reserving it through the U-Haul themselves, being they couldn’t promise me anything there either. Also, there is no actual U-Haul center near me and I wasn’t sure what the independent dealer could do.
U-Haul did not call me the day before, I was forced to call them and not only did they not have the truck I wanted, making me take one 12 feet larger then I wanted, but I had to travel 40 minutes to get it.
When I asked for a discount, realizing how many less miles per a gallon this truck got, they said they couldn’t do anything for me.
I will never use U-Haul again, this truck is costing me much more money they I thought it would and they offer nothing to make up for the last minute inconvience, that forces you to take what they give.
