My experience with this company has been a nightmare.
I reserved a second truck for my move after I had already made one move with a Budget Rental Truck. That experince was good. I only had one small problem with the ramp and when I told them they credited me instantly with $100 for my troubles.
UHaul took my reservation and promptly lost it. It took a lot of red tape to find another truck but it was in a city an hour away! We drove the hour only to find a truck with no dolly. They scrapped up a dolly after we waited for another hour. Then they informed us that there was no A/C in the truck. This was in late July moving from south Louisiana to South Texas. It WAS HOT…about 100 degrees. So my friend, the driver, was nice enough to take the heat and do it anyway. Then when we almost got to the new house, the radiator sprung a leak. After putting a stop leak in we made it back…finally. We took the truck in to a local dealer who reported the incident and told us to wait for a call from the company. I could have died waiting!!! Now, almost 7 months later I am still waiting to hear from them. I did receive a call asking me to wait a while, b/c of Katrina. I did…5 months. Two months ago I tried calling them again. They sent me through 8 transfers on the phone then took my info. and sent a post card promising a call in 48 hrs. No call. I have been trying to contact the correct person to report this to for weeks. I have been trying to report it to her supervisor for the last 2 weeks. Now I am trying to get to the owner of the Louisiana franchise. I moved July 28th. Now it is February 28th. Pray for me. My nerves are really raw over this.
Do yourself a favor. Call Budget or another company!!!
