Ford Explorer owners needed to unite against Uhaul and their discrimination against Explorer drivers. Ford Explorer is the only vehicle that has been banned by uhaul to tow a uhaul trailer.
I understand Uhaul’s point of view with the whole Firestone incident, but Exploreres have come a lot way since 1995, when the Firestone incident happened.

I am asking anyone and everyone, especially Explorer owners, to bombard Uhauls corporate headquarters, VP’s and Chairmen with phone calls, emails, letters and other coorespondence to have them lift this ban or make a provision to the ban to allow the newer Explorers to do what they were meant to. Tow for hauling purposes.

Currently any ford Vehicle from a Focus to an F-350 can pull a Uhaul. The Explorer is the only exception, yet all Explorers have a tow package built onto them.

This issue came up when I was renting a trailer to move a golf cart several hundred miles. The U-Haul dealer told me that my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4×4 was not legal under the U-Haul Guidelines. I guess I got lucky, because after explaining to him how idiotic that rule was considering that nine years of model changes had transpired and that the tires were the cause of the problem to begin with, he backed down and rented me the trailer. I also had exactly the same problem with my 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport. He told me that I had to have a hard top to rent a trailer.
My suggestion is to rent your , , and from every other dealer and let U-Haul rot on the vine. I find that their service is expensive, their vehicles dirty and poorly maintained, and the expertise of their employees to be incredibly poor. They are the epitome of when a business gets too big to be of service to their clients.
