U are better off to carry your stuff. U Haul
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS COMPANY IS STILL IN BUSINESS U Haul I would rather carry my furniture on my back than use U-haul again. I called U-haul and reserved a moving truck several weeks in advance ...
good experience U Haul We recently had to move our stuff from KY to TN. Obviously, our car was not big enough for the move, so what better option was there than to...
I have moved 2 times in the past 5 years and for different reasons,I have unfortunately had the experience of moving both times with U-Haul.
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE:
My first experience was when I moved home from college and was looking for the cheapest way to get from here to there….I will give them this - they are the most inexpensive - but that is all they are. I picked up the truck and noticed that it looked a little old and I asked the cashier what year it was and he said 1969. I graduated in 1995 and WAS BORN IN 1971 - so this truck had a few miles under its belt. But being the optimistic and not so smart about moving person that I was, I took the truck. Unfortunately and ever so expected, I only got 4 blocks away before it broke down. The cashier came out and kicked it a few times and told me to walk back and he would give me another truck (great). The next truck I got was a little newer- 1975. OK - I am a trooper - I decided that this would work out no matter what. I did make it with this truck and we did get the move done, but the ride was horrible, the truck sputtered and backfired the whole time, I got 9 miles to the gallon, and the truck was dirty in the front and in the back (which I had to return clean).
MY SECOND EXPERIENCE:
My next experience was about 6 months ago when my husband and I moved to our new home. We rented a U-Haul because the terror of the first experience had worn off and RYDER didn’t have any trucks that weekend. This experience was much like the last. The truck (bigger this time) was very old and ran horrible (sputtered, shook like an earthquake, and rode like a freight train). We had to drive 35 miles an hour because anything over that the truck shook so hard that we thought we would damage our stuff. It leaked oil in our new driveway, it got a bargain 4 miles to the gallon and the back had grease on the walls.
The other things that upset me about U-Haul is that everything is extra: extra for the moving blankets, extra for an automatic, extra for insurance, extra, extra, extra. They say they rent for $19.99, but we ended up paying over $159.00 all said and done and the truck was smaller inside (back) then that of any of its competition.
My advice to anyone moving is that if you have to go over 5 miles with your stuff then do not risk this trip with this company. Moving is hassle enough, but when you add this in it makes it a very rough ride.
How are these guys still in business??? U Haul If you do any research concerning move-it-yourself-truck-rentals and STILL rent a U-Haul truck you deserve what you get! Harsh, but true. ...
