It’s amazing to me to see all the people who seem to whine about everything. In my life I have used U-Haul several times. Never did I have any problems what-so-ever, after I learned HOW to properly rent a U-Haul truck…..READ ON FOR THE SECRET:
You see, if your not smart, your just not smart and if your not a people person on top of that, then oh well, your going to have a rough time at any U-Haul and life for that matter.
Here’s a tip: If you need a U-Haul truck say between May and August, reserve it at least two weeks BEFORE you need it AND reserve it on the day BEFORE you actually need it. DO NOT RESERVE ON LINE OR THE 800 NUMBER! Physically walk into your nearest U-Haul to reserve your truck! Be a smart truck renter like me.
I have learned that is the way to get a truck at U-Haul. Don’t forget the very important U-Haul Truck Trick: DO NOT RESERVE A TRUCK ON LINE OR THROUGH THE 1-800 NUMBER. Physically WALK IN to your nearest U-Haul!
Because these people receiving e-mails or calls, I’ve learned, simply “download” reservations to U-Haul sites without even knowing or caring if a truck is available!
I learned this from a manager at U-Haul one year and it is very bad because it just upsets customers and makes it harder for the managers at the U-Haul locations because loads of upset people walk in their site for a truck and yell at them all day since they can’t get a truck!!
The poor managers and customer service people of these sites have no control at all on these “downloads” as my friend the U-Haul site manager told me.
It states in the U-Haul contract, your reservation is guaranteed but getting equipment is not! Yes, you should really read the contract! Too busy huh?!
Just remember, during their busy season, there is NEVER enough trucks to supply the demand and if you reserve a truck like I said above, you’ll never have a problem.
