I see that most of the problems are unfilled reservations. They had a truck for me but the incompetence of the staff at the local office prevented me from getting one.
I called ahead and talked to Phil to ask if they would accept a purchase order from my employer for a rental like they do for trailer hitches, propane fills, car dolly rentals and the like.
Phil says no problem.
So I have my wife drop me off the next evening and it turned into a big problem. We have to move this weekend and we don’t have a truck.
Their excuse? I should have called ahead and got a ‘corporate move account number.’
I called 4 times to make sure there I could pick it up with no problem. I guess it just wasn’t enough. I would have called other companies to make sure I had a truck but I was assured they would have one waiting. What more could I have done?
He assigned a vehicle. Made me sign for a wave of the insurance. And then he signed off that there was no damage to the vehicle without doing a walk around. I did a walk around and found damage so beware of that too.
So there I stood, truck running outside. He tells me that the computer is taking forever and they have been promising him a new one for a year. Several more people show up to drop trucks off in the meantime and they are seriously understaffed. He can’t finish the contract because he doesn’t know how so he calls ‘corporate’. That is when he finds out that they did not do their job right. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter how hard the customer tried to get it done ahead of time; if they don’t do their job right you are not going to get a truck.
So no truck and no ride because the wife already went home.
They are sorry for what that is worth.
The service I got at the local moving center was terrible and I won’t return.
