U Haul Should Be Renamed, “U Do Everything!” U Haul
I rented a truck from U-Haul for a move. I didn’t realize what it meant when they do not confirm availability of the equipment until the night before. When U-Haul told us they could only offer us an autotransport (to tow a car behind the rental truck) if we picked it up in a city one hour away and NOT on our route, I started making calls. I found one on our route, but it was too much trouble to pick up the trailer, so we shipped a car (costing us an additional $500). U-Haul wouldn’t even offer to separate the reservations (pick up truck one day, trailer the next) for us to enable us to pick up the trailer the day of our trip! We either had to obtain both pieces (truck and trailer) on the same day or only take the truck… how ridiculous! I couldn’t even get the agent to look in cities that were somewhat on our intended travel route. I will never again use U-Haul. It should be called U-Do-Everything, including finding equipment. Thanks, Mark
