We moved last year over 800 miles from home. We did research on the most cheapest way to get to our new home, and found that U-Haul was the cheapest and easiest.
We had to rent a car dolly for our car, a moving cart and the biggest U-Haul available. All around cost was 490.00, 100.00 cheapest than other places we checked out.
What was also quite nice was that we were able to drop off the truck right across the street from our temporary home. So after moving everything into our temporary home (we moved again 9 monthes ago into our cabin in the woods), we were able to go right across the street with the truck. So nice.
The truck was very clean when we got it, and in fact, they left a big broom in the truck for us to use when we were done with it to clean it up.
The dolly was in excellent condition and carried our car with no problems.
The moving cart was fine, wheels and straps all in good working condition.
The customer service in Wisconsin was great. In fact, since we knew the owner who rented out the trucks brought it right out to our old house with a full tank of gas and even helped us move some of the bigger furniture into the truck.
When we returned the truck, again the customer service was very nice. The clerk thanked us, and when we needed them again they were happy to help.
I highly recommend U-Haul for a state to state move, or even in-state.
Our in-state move into the country was a low 100.00 deposit, and when we returned the truck, we got 62.00 back. Now that was cheap! We plan to use U-Haul again when our house is completed, and it will be our happy, last move.
