Once they have your credit card number, it’s all over. They no longer have to serve you. You think you’ve made a reservation in advance, but you haven’t. All you’ve done is give your credit number to a bunch of screw ups who will charge you if they find you a truck somewhere in the U.S. anytime on the day of your move.
They reserved a truck for me in the WRONG STATE, then REFUSED to correct the mistake. I had to spend the next day (the day of the move!) looking for another truck AND trying to cancel, so U-HAUL wouldn’t charge me for not picking up a truck 800 miles away.
U-Haul is the WORST company I’ve had the misfortune to deal with. They must only pay their employees low wages because it’s really obvious that they don’t give a stuff about your reservation. At least 3 employees that I explained my situation to burst out laughing and saying stuff like, “That’s U-Haul for you.”, one even told me I’d made a mistake to go with them, and I should have gone with Budget.
