were appalled.To make a long story short we did end up getting the truck. Gentle-Ride? Ya right! That thing had a sticky brake pedal and pounced all over the road. We had to wait a total of an hour to get the truck, while they helped other people who happened to arrive after us. Everyone there had to wait at least an hour. Let me also mention that the truck was given to us with an empty tank and was returned with a half-full tank (which when in use would show up as 1/4 tank, 1/8 tank, and even 5/8 a tank occasionally). Refund for the gas? Hell no! More like, "We’re charging you $.49 for every mile." The simple process of returning the truck took 45 minutes. Patience is key with U-Haul. Our appliance-stealing friend and his wife gladly "lit-up" their cigarettes in our faces during this time, harmfully exposing us tot heir second-hand poision. With U-Haul expect a general lack of proefssionality. Expect an empty tank and no smile-faced employees to greet you. Incompetence and computer glitches are a must, while miscommunications (if any communicationat all) are commonplace. Drinking beer and smoking might happen (and hell, damed if they offered us a beer!!) and the manager might shut his kid up by stuffing the little brat’s chomper with donuts. The manager will ask you to do him a favor of calling and having your info faxed to him (should get off his lazy ass and do it himself, the bastard) and your headache might be gone in a week.. if you’re lucky! (And let me not forget that they didn’t know how to refund the $3 that was owed us from the security credit, and had to wait tillt he enxt day and mail it (along with our reciept) to us. They could have screwed us over big time with that!
