Where do I start. I’ve had many dealings with U-Haul, having 10 addresses in the past 6 years due to college and graduate school.
Trucks-Scary. Drove a mid-size truck with my fiancee’s stuff. I could not keep the truck straight for my life. I honestly thought at one point that i was going to loose control of the truck, and I’ve driven bigger for a job with NO problems.
Employees- I have dealt with 5 different U-haul centers. Every single one of them is populated by…. how do i say this without being censored…. the mentally dull. To say it bluntly, they are all idiots. I would be willing to make a bet that there is an IQ max (somewhere around 85).
Mechanical service- Thank God I only had a hitch installed an no moving parts meddled with. A half hour job took them 5 hours. They did not even use washers on the bolts and my muffler rattles against the hitch quite loudly.
Management- I was charged twice for the hitch instalation. It took me multiple calls to management and dealing with the run around to get it fixed.
Trailers- they are built to survive a nuclear blast. Make sure you know the limit of your vehicle and the weight of the trailer. Weights are not advertised and you need to ask the dealer. Even the small looking trailers weight over 1000 lbs!!!!
