You can not rent any trailer no matter what size the hitch is on your car, if you have a class 3 hitch you can not rent any trailer. I had a class 2 hitch with a trailer that only weighed 1200 pounds well within the 3500 pound limit of a class 2 hitch. And Uhaul even lists it right on the contract that you can not tow with a ford explorer so Scottb03gt you are wrong just call uhaul and ask them. and metalshin04 there are several different uhaul trailers not only class 3 trailers
The Ford Explorer and hitch have nothing to do with each other.
Because of the big issue with Ford Explorer's and the Firestone tire fiasco, U-Haul's company policy is that you are not allowed to tow their trailer's with a Ford Explorer. They (The U-haul company) are banning an entire type of vehicle by name alone to limit their liability.
