Well, I can’t fight U-Haul on any technical grounds because, in my usual frantic manner, I didn’t pay attention to their rules; I had an engine I wanted to pull from my car and I needed their truck to get the equipment to where I would be doing the actual work. All in all they probably charged me the right amount but, as most people here have indicated, the truck was a mess. The A/C didn’t work, the radio didn’t work; the engine sounded bad and died on me three times. The clerk, who was also the manager, who charged me when I returned the truck would not allow me to keep my engine hoist on the premises while I went to the bank to pay the 200 dollars tehy were asking for, and I received nothing but a flat “no” when I asked for a phone book to look for a cab company’s number; and this after paying $200!!!!! I felt that this “manager” did not care about my situation at all and in fact seemed to enjoy watching me suffer through it all. Certainly I could’ve done more to prevent myself from being charged so much, but a little consideration please!!
